When it comes to subjects that interest you, there’s a difference between *passion and *fascination. And this difference shapes how we engage with people across social media…

Being passionate about something is different than being fascinated by something. Passion is often an interest romanticized. But fascination is an interest grounded in the wonder of reality.

When you’re passionate about something, there’s no need to know the ins and outs of the subject before speaking on it. When you discuss the subject, you want others to share your passion for the subject.

When you’re fascinated by something, you want to know how it really works. When you discuss the subject, you want others to know how it really works.

People often confuse passion with honesty. But passion often leads to hyperbole, conjecture, and zero context.

Fascination, however, tends to lead to fact finding and context.
